I was born a middle child, so it seems fitting that even though I am technically a soprano, I am ‘bi-sectional’ and been ‘cast’ as a Mezzo or Middle (Soprano 2/Alto 1) in most musical productions in my career, from choral to opera and beyond. Thus, I am very delighted to be included in this Sunday’s upcoming Gilbert & Sullivan Austin salon performance/ fundraiser “Oops! All Mezzos;)….” I mean, “Mezzo Madness and Other Follies” where I will revisit one of my favorite roles, from Pittsburgh Savoyards days, Princess Ida’s Lady Psyche singing “Darwinian Man”, and tackle a very fitting musical number “The Alto’s Lament.”
