STORM STATUS: Dear friends, family, and colleagues. Thank you for all your kind support during the last couple days. The southern United States was hit by a massive ice and snow storm, the worst in over 50 years, leaving over 130,000 in my city alone (Austin) without power, heat, and more. Our house, and my studio, were among them, and we have been living without power, heat, and (as of this morning) water since Sunday evening. It has been… very trying on our family (humans and kitties) for sure, and as expected we are chomping at the bit to get back to work (mostly the humans on that, not the cats).
Our power has been on consistently now for the last 3ish hours, no water yet, but melting buckets of the ice and snow from outside to get by. Hopefully all will resume to normal soon. Well, as ‘normal’ as 2021 can be. With a snow storm, in Texas.. what is normal anymore? I moved south on purpose to get ‘away’ from weather like this, having spent most of my life in Pennsylvania. Ah, well. 2021 full of Surprises!
Also sending love and support and warm thoughts to all others struggling with the storm right now. Soooo many affected, and not all have had access to a gas stovetop. Very thankful at least one thing in our house wasn’t electric right now. Stay warm, stay safe, and please don’t drive in Texas as they don’t have salt down here (why would they?!?!)
