Yesterday I got to sing Handel’s “Messiah” for my first time in years (pre-pandemic and pre- Long Covid). We (Panoramic Voices and the Central Texas Philharmonic) performed Part 1, ie “the Christmas part” and tossed in the “Hallelujah Chorus” by popular demand, with encouraged audience sing-a-long. For those wishing to get home by dinner, that meant only 1.5 hours of concert instead of three!
Extra bonus, I still had voice left for to sing this Tuesday at various Christmas Eve services. I am so thankful to my doctors over the last couple years, as Long Covid had hit my lungs hard and I never thought I would be up for things like Handel’s bombastic classic again so soon… two and a half years later, and runs were runnin’ and Hallelujahs were Halleluiahing! Ahhhhhh, what a lovely day, and such a fun performance:)
Happy Holidays to yinz yall!
