Three years ago today, we began posting our Cryptic Canticles presents “The Dracula Radio Play Experience” podcast series, a radio play adaptation of the Bram Stoker classic. The contents of the novel were re-ordered chronologically and each episode released on the calendar date where things happened in the book itself. The book begins on May 3rd, and so do we:)
For those familiar with the book, it is told in found articles, journal entries, diaries, news clippings etc… but is not in order. Our team felt by telling the story in true order, you get a better sense of the passage of time for the characters affected AND we can take advantage of the podcast medium by releasing each episode on the day in which things occur. The result is some days are very busy for vampires, 2 hours for an episode, some days are short with just one diary entry, and some days there are breaks.
108 episodes began re-airing today! The book spans from May 3rd thru Nov 6th, and thus does our series! Enjoy our show in “real-time” starting today on our website, through itunes podcasts, or visit our Youtube playlist to binge thru all the episodes at your leisure!
I’m super proud of our team at Cryptic Canticles for all the hard work that went into this project. We were also honored to a Featured Selection of the 2018 HEAR Now: The Audio Fiction and Arts Festival, and presented that year in the Platinum Showase/NATF Playhouse.
My contribution to this delightful project was performing the voice role of “Mina Murray-Harker”, as well as in charge of the audio production (music and sound design) for all 108 episodes. I hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we did working on it:)
